Kawasaki shook up the sport-touring class when it crammed the ZX-14’s monster motor into a tourer dubbed the Concours 14. And while the re-invigorated Connie delivered unquestioned high-performance at the throttle, as an overall touring platform there were quirks that could use improvement.

Our neighbors here in Southern Oregon, Brammo Motorsports, have been making a lot of news lately. First, by pushing an improved version of the electric Enertia powercycle into production and onto the sales floor at Best Buy. Second, a prominent role in the first-ever international electric road race - the TTXGP at the Isle of Man. And now the Brammo boys are staging a savvy PR coup by delivering an Enertia to our president, Barack Obama.

Reuters reports that Hamas is banning women from riding scooters and motorcycles in the Gaza Strip. The ban is said to “protect community values” and includes riding pillion. Read the full story at Reuters.

Okay, so maybe Dani Pedrosa does lack the flash of some in the GP paddock. You could rightly say that Valentino Rossi possesses more charisma in his little pinkie than the diminutive Spaniard, but I’ve always thought Dani P gets something of a bad rap.
