James Stewart Featured on ESPN Special
Friday, April 24, 2009
James Stewart’s success in AMA Supercross has broken barriers in motorcycle racing. Now mainstream America will get a closer look at the racing phenomenon when he is featured on ESPN’s E:60. It doesn’t get much bigger in the world of sports than ESPN and it sounds like the E:60 feature will be more than a fluff piece. Check out the teaser text from the ESPN Media Zone:
Supercross rider James Stewart, the first African-American to win a major motorsports title, is often called the “Tiger Woods” of his sport as the most dominant athlete in competition. Earning more than $10 million annually, Stewart has not only broken numerous records, he has broken barriers as well. His father collected cans to help pay for his son’s racing, and Stewart tells E:60’s Michael Smith about the blatant racism he has endured at the racetrack.
