Prince William and Harry Plan New Ride
Monday, July 13, 2009
Americans either bristle or take a guilty pleasure reading news about the British royal family. But regardless of which camp they fall into, most riders know Princes William and Harry are themselves motorcycle enthusiasts. Now the Daily Telegraph is reporting the
princes are contemplating an adventurous motorcycle journey.
If true, it would be the second such trip by the brothers, as both royals participated in the
2008 Enduro Africa aboard
Honda CRF230 dirt bikes. At the time, the duo were part of an 89-rider group that made its way over 1000 miles from Port Edward to Port Elizabeth in South Africa (you know you’re royalty, by the way, when you ride between two cities named after family members!). The Enduro Africa is a charity event, with each rider raising £4995 to participate. The money is disbursed between four charities, which includes
UNICEF and the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.
No definitive word or when or where the heirs of Windsor will journey this time around. As for more information on the Princes' 2008 journey, check out the
