Gearing Up for Grave Robbers Ride
Thursday, July 30, 2009
Motorcycle USA is gearing up for a unique rally this weekend – the inaugural Grave Robbers Ride. The premise is simple: ride old bikes a long ways. The planned route is a loop from Boise, Idaho, to Lolo, Montana, via 750 miles of circuitous mountain roads in the scenic Idaho hinterlands. Along the route will be 11 rivers, two crossings of the continental divide and who knows what else.
The rules are simple:
1. Bike must cost under $1,000
2. Bike must be from 1979 or older
MCUSA is shamelessly breaking both rules by riding the retro-styled 2009
Ducati GT1000 Touring and
Triumph Bonneville SE. Hopefully the true Grave Robbers won’t be too bent out of shape, but we figure what better backdrop for a modern classic motorcycle comparison.
Stay tuned for Grave Robber Run updates and the forthcoming Ducati GT1000 Touring vs.
Triumph Bonneville SE comparison test.
