Ah, the mosaic. Used to be they were known primarily as the decorative art of ancient Rome and Byzantium. Then some utter genius figured out how to take a number of smaller photos and generate larger mosaic portraits, begetting the photomosaics phenomenon.
has created its own photomosaic of H-D riders on The Motor Company’s Bar & Shield logo. Back in May the folks from Milwaukee reached out to customers during the development of its 2010 catalog. According to a recent email received about the project the result were photos “of enthusiasts, riders, their bikes, tattoos or experiences such as rallies, rides or concerts. This mosaic is truly a symbol of the passion and enthusiasm of those that make-up the Harley-Davidson family.”
Just one of the numerous H-D enthusiasts hidden inside The Motor Co's new Bar and Shield photomosaic.
There’s certainly a lot to look at while checking out the online version. Best one I found? Have to say a fella going by the name of “UgLy” – he’s filmed with a headset and parrot. I don’t know why, the parrot is intriguing. Very pirate-like. Find your own favorite at www.h-d-mosaic.com
