Running on Fumes

It’s been seen in spy shots, talked about all summer and primed for its debut at the upcoming EICMA Milan Show this November - the expected adventure touring mount from Ducati. Is it a bike to match the ubiquitous BMW GS with some Italian pinache, off-road capable or on-road only? Now Ducati is teasing with a new site to generate a more buzz before the official debut.

At least now we have a name – Multistrada 1200, Ducati opting to hang onto the moniker from its prior AT entry. Rumors place a detuned version of the 1098 Superbike engine in its frame, with the bike focused for road-use and very little off-road capabilities. The Ducati video does little to tip the hand, except that the front profile looks quite different than its predecessor.
