Economic Woes = Racing Woes?

Honda has announced its withdrawing from F1 racing because of the tough economic times. Granted F1 is a super-expensive series to compete in, but will companies watching their bottom line put less effort into two-wheeled racing programs? If so, what does this mean for motorcycle racing in general?
We’ve already seen
Suzuki pull the plug on its amateur support program. As the new AMA Road Racing series gets underway with lackluster OEM support, and outright antagonism from Suzuki, it will be interesting to see how the new series fares in a challenging economy.
