Economic Woes = Racing Woes?

Honda has announced its withdrawing from F1 racing because of the tough economic times. Granted F1 is a super-expensive series to compete in, but will companies watching their bottom line put less effort into two-wheeled racing programs? If so, what does this mean for motorcycle racing in general?
We’ve already seen Suzuki pull the plug on its amateur support program
. As the new AMA Road Racing series gets underway with lackluster OEM support, and outright antagonism from Suzuki, it will be interesting to see how the new series fares in a challenging economy.
