Description: Back in the day this was one of the few rides you could take on a motorcycle that didn't require a lot of effort to see some great stuff. It takes you to Canyon Lake where you can hike, fish, camp or swim. At Tortilla Flat is a small restaurant/saloon/museum and general store they call a town. It's a cool place to stay and grab a bite or a cool drink. From here you can continue an adventurous ride to Roosevelt Lake as well.

Road had become nothing but pea gravel on the corners, the yearly patches to the surface make it rough and unstable. Great for cagers but dont recommend it for the 2 wheel world..

MCUSA went on this ride last year during our Spring Training Cactus League Tour http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/308/8986/Motorcycle-Article/Spring-Training-Cactus-League-Tour.aspx

It's quite scenic ride, though very crowded during our tour. After Tortilla Flat the road is excellent for sportier riding. When it turns to dirt, you can keep following all the way to Roosevelt Dam. The dirt section is best on a dual-sport or adventure bike, though we enjoyed it on our sport-touring mounts too.
