The Adin Alturas Loop is a motorcycle touring ride that starts in Alturas, loops south on Highway 395 through Termo and then comes back through the Modoc National Forest towards Canby.

Directions: Start in Alturas and head South on Highway 395. Continue to the town of Termo then head Right on Termo Grasshopper Road. At Highway 139 go Right, heading back North alongside Said Valley Reservoir. When you arrive at Highway 299 this part of the ride is complete.
Description: The Adin Alturas Loop starts in Alturas in the northeastern part of California, close to the Oregon and Nevada borders. It is mostly in the valley with some of the ride in the elevations of 5000 feet. The route passes through the Modoc National Forest It is about a 3 hour drive and 128 miles around.

Without a doubt this is an excellent route. You can pretty much have your run of the place out there. There are Highway Patrols outside of ALturas and there is the possibility of wildlife crossing the roads at all times so be alert.
