KT @ R34 -RE: R34 - RE: KT - Mladin - The broad.... February 12, 2010 12:31 PM
I never denied Matt’s talent just acknowledged the broad that he is… but since you’re up for discussion…

#1 he didn't quit 4 years ago because he was making lots of $$$ LOOSING championships, which isn't the case now with the small purses. On top of that, he didn't give Ben his due when Ben beat him for 3 titles. On Mat's interview he said he was about winning races not championships. COP OUT!!! Just congratulate the winner and get better for next season. Don’t act like you could have won if you wanted to BRAT! (3 titles!!! Come on man)

#2 Washed up? Definitely! He announces retirement when he couldn’t run with the R1’s, specifically Hayes, at the end of 2009 and blamed it on DMG. And yes, Hayes with the R1 would hand Mat his a_s if both raced in 2010. Then, in typical Mat fashion, he changes his tune again saying he didn’t run hard because he was securing the 2009 championship. Again COP OUT!

#3 Could he grab another title against mediocre talent and no other factory supported teams? Possibly, but with ease... You out of your mind!!!

#4 No, he couldn’t cut it on the world stage so he stayed in AMA to get rich… I said he was a broad, not stupid! Then, after he talks down on world stage moto racing, he sounds giddy about considering an offer to race in world superbike this year… WTF!!!

Bottom line, that attention whore would get more respect when he learns to give some… Flip flops more than John Kerry...

Instead of holding dude sack, be objective about it... He’s missing the lime light and depends on stiffs like you to keep his name hot…

For those who thought Mladin "taught" Spies...not the case. Mladin was a tool to him as well. Spies measured what he was up against, figured out how to beat him and won 3 championships. Give Spies credit, he did it on his own - his success must kill Mladin; thus the attempt to take credit for it.
Mat-ilda -Happy??? February 12, 2010 07:07 AM
There is a fine line between a fiery personality and no personality....sorry but his brooding, angry demeanor wore me out. Especially in light of the fact the he was making at least 7 figures doing something we all envy. Now all he has is his cantankerous reputation, his anger and a keyboard.....kind of reminds me of Greg Lemond.

I think it would be awesome if the riders spoke freely and didn't sugar coat anything. You would see each riders true character and personality.

Colin Edwards is always my favourite guy to watch because it seems like he gives you a much better look of what it's really like in the motogp world. He just seems more like a normal guy, sometimes he talks to the press like he would talk to his friends over beers, no holding back except for swearing. I loved hearing him straight up tell us how he felt about the michelin tires instead of sugar coating it.

Hearing the riders always praising their bikes and tires when in reality theyre having a hard time gets boring to listen to.

I always look forward to watching ama, wsbk, and moto gp but could you imagine if the riders didn't kiss their sponsors asses and spoke their mind, as well as publicly bashing the riders they have a problem with and brought out the drama??

Oh my god the hype it would bring to races would be amazing.

It'll never happen...but it's fun to imagine :)
R34 -RE: KT - Mladin - The broad.... February 11, 2010 02:10 PM
Dude...are you serious? If the reason he quit because the competition was closing, he would have quit 4 years ago. Washed up? Do you even know what is going on in the AMA? You and I both know that if Mladin stayed, he would have grabbed ANOTHER title...with ease, and that is with him sitting OUT of select rounds he deemed unsafe for riders to compete at...I understand you are a Mladin hater, but seriously, name 1 rider in the paddock that you really think could have challenged him this season like Spies did? Mladin nor the AMA is on my good list, but you really have to come back to reality kid...had he stayed or him coming back would have made for yet another exciting (not) AMA/DMG filled race season. Who cares that he based majority of his career in the AMA...that was his choice, and there simply weren't enough riders in the series that could challenge him. I applaud him for raising the bar if anything. Why does everyone think he has to "prove" himself by going to WSBK...Didn't Spies show anything of where Mladin could potentially place himself on the SBK grid, and if he didn't dominate there...big deal. If anything, get mad at the AMA/DMG that you think has nothing to do with all the current events, the factory teams and riders in the paddock for not adjusting over the last decade. I mean serious, you mean to tell me that the AMA couldn't produce enough talent in the last 10 years to challenge...1 team? Yea, he's an a$$hole, we get it, but there is a bigger issue than here than people realize.
KT -Mladin - The broad.... February 11, 2010 01:36 PM
Matt is a bonafied PLAYA HATA! He should be enjoying retirement or doing whatever it is stuck up azz pre-madonna’s do after they are washed up. Instead he busy stepping on other riders shine.

I personally think he QUIT because the competition is stiffer now and he couldn't hack it anymore. DMG management was an cop out...

Dude comeback, race, and earn your right to diss fellow riders or go on to Aussie land and shut the fork up!!! Chuuuuuuuuuurch!!!
Mat-ilda -Buh bye now February 11, 2010 11:27 AM
Enough already.......I was at VIR in 02' when he wouldn't come to the podium after Eboz beat him by a fender, yet ran ran his mouth about how fellow racers didn't congratulate him enough when he won. Live by the sword die by the sword. Lost all respect that day and never got it back. Great rider? Yes. Champion? No. As champ, you represent not yourself first, but the sport. Spies won 3 AMA Superbike Championships and wasn't a tool, neither was Chandler, Duhamel amongst others.
R34 -Mladin February 11, 2010 09:12 AM
Like him or hate him, seems to be NO gray area on this guy. Don't think I need to remind everyone of his dominating racing resume, so people...back off already, he has a point. Why do I stand up for him? Because of one thing and one thing only, he was a badass racer! I don't care if you don't like his personality or a media sweetheart like Rossi...are you watching racing in hopes of these racers accepting you saps on their facebook page or are you watching hoping you will see a battle on the grid? Get over yourselves, and drop the off track personality you all hold so dear...if you all really knew your favorite actor/actress, model, or other professional athelete's personality or stand point on world issues on how they really were...I doubt you'd like them as well. Watch it for what it is, who cares what side of the bed they sleep on or what they eat for breakfast!
MotoFreak -Mladin February 11, 2010 08:39 AM
When things weren't perfect for him he retired and grabbed his ball and went home. Talk about soft cock!
Tim B -Hypocrite February 11, 2010 12:55 AM
"Soft cocks"? He should talk. If he was so "manly" he would have moved UP to the world stage in racing instead of staying at the national level. Come on Mladin.
bikerrandy -Mladin's latest gem February 10, 2010 09:17 PM
Mat will never be PC. Nor will I. I like that.

"You were always a big fish in a small pond" So you're admitting Mat was too good for every other racer here but Spies, who Mat helped make him what he is today? You just sound like a sore loser to me.

If I could make millions of $ kicking ass year after year, I would too. But I never had the talents it takes to accomplish that. Am I jealous? Hell no ! I applaud Mat for having what it takes to pull it off.
GS --Shut up, Mat. February 10, 2010 08:04 PM
I never liked you, Mat. You were always an ass. You were always the biggest fish in a small pond, cherry-picking your way to legendary status. Now that you've retired, you're no longer in the spotlight. Just please go away.
