Supercross Breasts on Display

Thursday, February 11, 2010
Charitable breast displays. Those three words can conjure up so many different meanings… In this case, however, the breasts belong to Supercross announcers Erin Bates and Ashley Phillips, with the charity being the Keep A Breast Foundation. The SX announcing duo bared all for a pair of breast casts which Troy Lee Designs is painting up to be auctioned off for charity online from February 12-25. The breast casts will be on display at the Troy Lee Designs Anaheim 3 hospitality area.

The TLD/Keep A Breast auction is one of many breast cancer awareness campaigns during this weekend’s AMA Supercross race at Anaheim. Feld Motor Sports, the promoter of Supercross, and Angels Baseball are helping to fund the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure 60-mile walk. Kawasaki is pitching in with a 24-hour dirt bike rider training marathon on the eve of the SX race. The Go PINK campaign also encourages fans and competitors to wear pink at the final Anaheim round, with Troy Lee Designs getting into the spirit with its Honda satellite squad outfitted in pink gear.

As for the Bates/Phillips cast auction, for Phillips, the decision to participate is a personal one. In a PR announcing the TLD/Keep A Breast cast auction she said:

"When the opportunity came for us to work with the Keep A Breast Foundation, I was really excited about coming together to raise awareness about breast cancer and someday finding a cure. Any contribution I can make to the research is worth it to me, even if it means getting wrapped in plaster from the waist up! My aunt was diagnosed five years ago, but it wasn't until one of my friends was diagnosed that I realized its impact on generations of women. Both my aunt and friend are now in full remission! I hope this experience and the entire day will bring more awareness of this disease within our sport."

And now, just in case you were unaware of Erin Bates’ and Ashley Phillips’ breasts, TLD provided a YouTube video of the cast-making process – spoiler alert it stars Erin Bates’ and Ashley Phillips’ boobs: www.youtube.com/troyleedesigns.
