Directions: From Traverse City: Head North on Highway 22 towards Northport Bay and continue on 22 as it loops around and heads South towards Frankfort. Go east (Left) on Highway 115 (Frankfort Highway/cadillac Highway) towards Thompsonville. Go east (Left) on County Road 602 then go Northeast (Left) again on County Road 700/Highway 137 (Karlin Road) until it intersects with Route 31. Go east (Right) to Highway 37. Go North (Left) back to Traverse City.
Description: The Sleeping Bear Dunes Loop is an opportunity to ride along the Michigan Lake coastline through the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore as well as Traverse Bay. The region surrounding the starting point at Traverse Bay is an outdoorsman paradise with ski resorts in the hills, boating & kite surfing in the Bay and an endless variety of places to visit. The roads twist and wind along the coastline with amazing viewing opportunities. It is the coast road along Sleeping Bear Dunes that makes the ride special. There is a nice side trip worth making if you are into soaking in the views too. Sleeping Bear Dunes has a Scenic Drive is a 7 mile self-guided tour that offers viewing opportunities of the Glen Lakes, the Sleeping Bear Dunes and Lake Michigan.
