There are fantastic places to visit along this route starting at the beginning with the history of the American Revolution and also one of the biggest caverns in the world, the Cathedral Caverns. As you head North West you will be entranced with the beauty of the surrounding area and the twists and turns of the road. As you make your way around, a point of interest can be the Monte Sano State Park and you will need a detour off the route to make it there as there are no shortcuts to it from Dug Hill Road. After this 3 hour ride you can cool off by Guntersville Lake just East of Grant.

CR 4 in Paint Rock Valley becomes a dirt road and may have locked gates. You can stay on Hwy 65 to Huntland, TN. Take Winchester Rd out of Huntland back to New Market, Al. This is a very good ride.
