Carmichael’s Pad in Architectural Digest
Wednesday, October 20, 2010
Ricky, Architectural Digest called. You're in.
has finally hit the big time – Architectural Digest. Sure RC may have a bajillion motocross and Supercross
titles to his credit, but now the great one has his 9634-square-foot home featured in the November 2010 issue. The profile will find RC’s mug delivered to an all-new coffee table audience, Architectural Digest
residing on the more hoity toity end of the magazine spectrum.
It’s always interesting to see a niche sports star displayed in a mainstream manner. Explaining a sport to a wider audience deliver photo captions like this for RC’s outdoor pool area: “A goat statue perched above the pool symbolizes fans’ nickname for Ricky Carmichael: G.O.A.T., or Greatest of All Time.”
How many AD readers will furrow their brow over that one? “A GOAT eh… that’s strange. Oooh, look the pergola was designed by Ed Blissard!”
