Salt Addiction Land Speed Racing Photo Gallery
MotorcycleUSA correspondent and the fastest man on two wheels, Rocky Robinson, provides his first article on land speed racing in a two-wheeled streamliner.
Few people know the thrills of piloting a motorcycle capable of 350 mph, but Rocky Robinson is one of them. The former World's Fastest Rider gives us the inside scoop in his Salt Addiction's column.
The Top One Ack Attack is ready for business.
John Jans prepares the Bub machine for battle.
Sam Wheeler's EZ Hook streamliner waits its turn to run.
Testing at a Nevada airstrip. (note the rear tire spinning on the asphalt)
"Permission to buzz the tower?" Robinson breaks hard near the end of the runway.
The calm before the storm. A few minutes after this shot was taken Robinson and the Top One Ack Attack Team set a new world land speed record. It was all smiles on the other end!

The Top One Ack Attack rolled 12 times before coming to rest. The open cockpit took in huge amounts of salt.
Emergency crews rush to the scene. Surprisingly, Robinson walked away unharmed.
Luckily, the heavy duty roll cage remained intact.
Damage to the machine was severe. The team would regroup and rebuild. Better, stronger, faster...
The twin Hayabusa engines were hardly recognizable after the crash.
Robinson and crew member Jim True discuss what went wrong.
