2012 Yamaha R1 Preview

Over the past two days the media got to take our first rides on the 2012 Yamaha R1. Although the changes are few, one is quite significant. Yamaha has added traction control to the already user friendly crossplane crankshaft equipped superbike.On Monday we spent the afternoon riding the 50th anniversary special edition paint scheme just outside of Palm Springs. The next day we headed for Chuckwalla Valley Raceway for some serious track testing. Stay tuned for the full review this Friday.

Ducati Superquadro Engine Video

Ducati has released a video highlighting the technical details of the Superquadro engine that powers the 1199 Panigale Superbike. It is obvious the Ducati project managers are very proud of the new design and are excited to bring it to the public. I for one am eagerly awaiting an official first look of the entire bike, and I am even more excited to throw a leg over it. But for now the marketing tease that just gives a taste of what is to come will have to suffice.
