Ducati Superquadro Engine Video

Monday, October 10, 2011
Ducati has released a video highlighting the technical details of the Superquadro engine that powers the 1199 Panigale Superbike. It is obvious the Ducati project managers are very proud of the new design and are excited to bring it to the public. I for one am eagerly awaiting an official first look of the entire bike, and I am even more excited to throw a leg over it. But for now the marketing tease that just gives a taste of what is to come will have to suffice. Check out the Superquadro engine video and try not to drool on the keyboard.

Just think about the resources it must have taken for a relatively small company like Ducati to engineer/produce this new engine, which really is "all-new". Some say Ducati will move to a V4 format in the near future, but this powerplant says otherwise.

Ride by wire is why my Vmax worries me. Had more then my share of scares when the engine revs unexpectedly. However my GenII Vmax is not driven on the street. My street ride is a Ducati. It's like the American twins I've road for decades, but with power. Wow!

and the radical chassis gives a nice view of the attractive new engine as well...
