2012 BMW S1000RR First Ride Preview
Thursday, October 20, 2011
Hey everybody, we’re here in Valencia, Spain painting fat black lines of rubber at the controls of BMW’s updated for ’12 Superbike. Although it’s only been on the market for two years, BMW has given the S1000RR
its first technical update. For all the juicy details peruse the 2012 BMW S1000RR First Look
report. The biggest thing that stands out in my mind is how much better ‘Slick’ engine mode/DTC works. That herky-jerky/twitchy throttle feel has been eliminated and replaced by a much more progressive setting which makes the bike 10-times more friendly to ride. The wheelie control functionality has also been improved and an experienced rider no longer has to de-activate the TC system when you’re really getting after it on street tires at the racetrack. Stay tuned for the full report and double video reviews next week.
