With 130 horsepower, the HP 2 Sport features the most powerful Boxer engine ever designed by BMW Motorrad. For the first time ever, double overhead camshafts are included in our famous opposed twin cylinder motor. The HP2 Sport has a new Quickshifter technology, which means faster gear changes without having to chop the throttle or use the clutch. Add a fully adjustable Ohlins sport front and rear suspension, Radial mounted Brembo Monobloc brakes, a lightweight carbon fiber aerodynamic fairing, not to mention forged racing wheels and a MotoGP-inspired cockpit that computes lap times and other racing data.

The K 1300S develops such pulling power with 175hp that it takes the heat out of many a 200hp bike? But a bike you can still take out on a quick trip simply because it has great everyday suitability. At the same time a technological treat. The reasons: 103 lb/ft from 1293cc and at 8250 rpm too. With catalytic converter and exhaust valve. And with fuel consumption and exhaust emission values which would suit many a machine with half the dynamic performance.

The new K 1300 R now has 173hp at 9,250rpm and a wet weight of 535.7 lbs is sure to prove a hoot to ride. Maximum torque arrives 1,000rpm earlier and peaks at 130 lb-ft. Styling, there is a new fairing and compact mudguard are aimed at softening the lines somewhat while contrasting with the angular radiator surrounds and intakes. An improved version of the long running Duolever front end looks after the bumps up front with stiffer springs and damping and a new lower longitudinal arm for better roadholding.

The Gran Tourismo BMW K 1300 GT quite simply one of the fastest movers around. It opens up a new era in the timing of long distances. Nonetheless: impressive though the average travel times may be on this machine, its performance is also fascinating at low speeds, for example after a hairpin bend. This is because at engine speeds you operate in more than 80% of the time on the road i.e. the lower and middle ranges – this engine adds something you can feel instantly: 99 lb/ft from 1,293 cc.
