In the world of motorized transportation, there couldn’t be a more disparate pairing than scooters and supercars. The two vehicle groups will converge, however, on the Peterson Automotive Museum this July. The Los Angeles museum showcases the two transportation extremes during the Scooters and Supercars Day on Saturday, July 9 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This morning on the way into work I came across a group of dudes on scooters kicking back at the local gas station. At first glance I didn’t notice the flo-yellow safety vests, but I did notice the metal pipes affixed to the side of their machines.

Aficionados of electric mobility eccentricities are likely already familiar with the UNO. A science fair project of 17-year-old student Benjamin Gulak, the original UNO was something of a cross between a unicycle, motorcycle and Segway. Getting ink in mainstream media outlets like Popular Science, Gulak turned the concept into a business, BPG Motors.
