2012 Sand Sport Super Show Happening Now

There are all kinds of vendors at the Sand Sport Super Show.
The 2012 Sand Sport Super Show
is going on right now at the OC Fairgrounds. We stopped by for a few hours last night and strolled through the many display areas packed with all sorts of off-road goodies. There’s also a supermoto and kart race happening on the outskirts.
Our main reason for being there was the public unveiling of Can-Am’s new side-by-side
sport vehicles. The Maverick 1000R and Maverick Max 1000R were definite crowd-pleasers once the black sheets were pulled back. UTVs are growing in popularity and a good portion of the show attendants were there specifically to scope out SxS accessories. The cheer that went up from the crowd is a good indicator that RZR XP and Wildcat owners are going to see some new Yellow competition out on the dunes in short order.
As for the rest of the event, there’s all sorts of aftermarket companies on display. High-tech items like solar-powered generators and communication systems down to the simple things like flag mounts and graphic kits. Tires and wheels are extra popular and big-name dealers are on hand with a selection of stock and modified machines for sale. We spent a bunch of time in the Dragonfire Racing booth oogling the new line of racing and rec/utility products. It’s also a good place to research toy hauler options with a massive amount of RVs to check out. Tonight is the big Saturday Night Party from 7-11 p.m. The show runs through Sunday, so if you’re in the SoCal area be sure to stop by.
