8th Annual David Mann ChopperFest Dec. 11
Tuesday, November 29, 2011
You can expect to see plenty of bikes like this at the 8th Annual David Mann ChopperFest.
The 8th Annual David Mann ChopperFest is rapidly approaching. Motorcycle USA rode up to Ventura from Long Beach last year to bask in the laid-back vibe of the show (check out our 2010 David Mann ChopperFest Review
for details). While our co-workers were freezing their buns off in chilly Oregon, we were cruising up the California coast on a beautiful 80-degree sunny day. At its core, ChopperFest is a tribute and celebration to the life of artist and friend of many, David Mann. Last year, they had a record turnout for the Antique and Custom Motorcycle Show. Plenty of people cleaned out their garage for the swap meet, custom builders like Kiwi Mike and Todd Silicato set up booths, music was jammin’ and cold beer was flowin’. It was reminiscent of a painting by Mann himself.
The 8th Annual David Mann ChopperFest
will be held Sunday, December 11th, at the Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura, CA. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. General Admission is $15; Military with ID get in for $10; and Kids 12 and under cost $5.
This year, the Bob Carillo Band will be performing, the Sugartown Rollergirls will be doing an exhibition, and Ron Segal fine art will be conducting a David Mann art exhibit complete with a few of Mann’s original paintings. Of course the annual antique and custom motorcycle show will be going on with 12 classes and original trophies created by Sonny Boy, the swap meet will be hopping, and plenty of custom bike builders will be on hand displaying their wares, from Kirk Taylor and Custom Design Studios to Chica. If you ride and live in SoCal, we highly recommend you check it out. Long live the spirit of David Mann!
