Jesse James is Back! Outlaw Garage Airs Mon.

Friday, April 6, 2012
Jesse James may have been a “Dead Man,” West Coast Choppers is defunct, but don’t think James is ready for the grave just yet. After showing he can still bend metal with the best bike builders in the business during the American Chopper: Jr. vs Sr. vs Jesse James Build Off, the former WCC leader has landed another TV show called Jesse James: Outlaw Garage. The new show will premiere on the Discovery Channel Monday, April 9 at 10 p.m. E/P. James’ latest TV venture will feature his latest enterprise, Austin Speed Shop, and his fresh digs in Texas. Here’s what the Discovery Channel had to say about the new series in addition to a sneak preview courtesy of YouTube.

It's back to basics for Jesse James. With his life in a tailspin, Jesse said goodbye to the glitz and glamour of Hollywood and moved back to Austin, Texas. Enough with the distractions. Jesse wants nothing more than to leave his problems behind and get back to his roots as one of the top fabricators in the world.

With the help of some of the world's top car customizers, Jesse partnered up with the Austin Speed Shop. Joining the Speed Shop is not only a new business venture for Jesse; it also signifies a new life.

But Jesse is unsure if his crew at the Austin Speed Shop is able to handle the work load expected of a world class operation. So he challenges them with rebuilding a 1932 Ford Roadster in just weeks - a job that would normally last almost one year. The stakes are high for everyone as Jesse needs to get back to business and his crew knows it's their shot to join the big leagues.

I don't need another television show to "Discover" how self-important this guy is. I don't need another television show to "Discover" that once you have seen a few chopper builds you have seen them all. I remember when the Discovery channel had shows that were interesting and taught me something. Shows like Towards 2000, Beyond 2000, etc. Count me out on this one.

@ piglet2010, I hate to disagree with you man, but, my Army buddy that I worked with in Brussels, Belgium has a custom bike built by JJ that he rides all over Belgium. The bike is bad a$$, has two nitro bottles and custom blue lights that light the engine up at night. The bike really draws a crowd over here. I’ve seen some photo’s of him with JJ so it’s all rather legit.

@ wildpig - One does wonder how much of a market is left for what are essentially expensive display pieces? After all, who actually rides a custom chopper anywhere (I've never seen one on the road)? And as for reality, "reality television" is anything but.
