Video Peeks Inside Indian’s Thunder Stroke 111
Wednesday, June 19, 2013
We confess. We’re just as excited as everybody else to see what Polaris Industries does with Indian Motorcycles. We’ve seen and heard the powerplant it will employ, the 1811cc Thunder Stroke 111
. We know that the 2014 Indian Chief
lists for $18,999 and will make its debut at the 2013 Sturgis Rally. We’ve even had a chance to touch and drool over the ‘Spirit of Munro’
streamliner they wedged the Thunder Stroke 111 into. Now Indian is giving the public a peek at the inner workings of the big pushrod-operated mill in its latest animated video – ‘Power and Style in Animation: The Thunder Stroke 111.’
The video provides a great look at the components of the big powerplant, from its three cam pushrod intake to its final unit construction design. We think it looks striking and can’t wait to find out how it stacks up to its competitors, one being the other American V-Twin manufacturer Polaris owns, Victory Motorcycles. The clock is ticking as the countdown to its Sturgis debut continues. Until then, enjoy another teaser courtesy of Indian Motorcycle.
