After the bikes are put together (and, hopefully,) test-ridden a bit, each country's riders go through technical inspection. One of the steps there is a sound check, which Trophy team replacement Damon Huffman passed easily.

Kurt Caselli proved to be the fastest of the Americans, though he felt he had a mediocre day due to a couple crashes after setting the best time in the first test.
Destry Abbott leaves the starting platform on time at 8:12 this morning along with Spain's Cristobal Guerrero. Abbott found the sandy tests to his liking and at 10th is the fastest American in E2.
Nothing like riding down some stairs to the beach, which is where the final test of each day will be held in Figueira da Foz. Russell Bobbitt leads a U.S. Junior World Trophy team that is thought to hold second place, pending release of official results later tonight.
Europe's got history and ISDE racers like American Tim Weigand get to ride through it in many cases. Despite this being his first Six Days, Weigand put in a solid day for seventh in E1, the best American score in the class.

Kurt Caselli put in a more consistent day and it paid off by moving him up to in the individual overall standings to sixth, though he remains fourth in E3.
Though he rode well in the first half of the day, David Kamo would ultimately get back to the pits on the end of a tow rope after melting an ignition wire and the carb boot.
There are only two women ahead of Maria Forsberg, but class leader Ludivine Puy of France is so far ahead that she'd have to have a catastrophic failure or take herself out. Sweden's Jessica Jonsson in second is within reach, however.
Ryan Powell, who led C2 after Day One, DNFed Day Two after the piston seized late in the day. The deep sand and heat is exacting a toll on both bikes and bodies.
'Rippin' Rory Sullivan blazed Day Two and is third in C3.

The last two days may not have had as much sand in the tests, but there have been a couple of extremely long sections of sand that stretch for miles and, of course, become whoop-filled torture tests. U.S. Club team rider Joel Burkett copes here.
Damon Huffman has been battling severe tendinitis for the past few days, making it practically impossible to really push it in the tests. Fortunately, he's still able to have a little fun now and then, though the law might frown on this sort of behavior.
An awkward crash cost Timmy Weigand the tip of his little finger on his throttle hand, though he toughed it out and finished the day. And this was after he needed an IV drip this morning due to food poisoning last night!

Shawn O'Leary of the Desert Motorcycle Club, which sits in 14th among all Club teams behind two other American Club teams, rips through the first test of the day.
Cory Buttrick crashed in the sand and was surprised at how soft the landing was--at least until his bike landed and skidded over his back. The U.S. Junior World Trophy team remains third, but made up ground on second.

Though he didn't win the moto--settling for fourth--Kurt Caselli was satisfied overall with a week where he was fourth in E3 and won several tests overall.
As he heads up the coast to the final motocross test venue, Jeff Fredette heads towards his 29th Six Days finish in 29 starts. Yes, that's a record--by a long ways!
Jamie Lanza got a great start in the E1 race and finished second, with the fifth-fastest time of the entire field.
