2010 BMW Boxer Flat Twin Photo Gallery
See photos of the upgraded 2010 BMW Boxer Twin, as well as 2010 Boxer R series motorcycles, in the 2010 BMW Boxer Flat Twin photo gallery.
The BMW Boxer Flat Twin is upgraded for 2010 with a new cylinder head.
The DOHC 2010 Boxer design sources two chain-driven camshafts, with each camshaft controlling both an intake and exhaust valve in the radial four-valve head.
The BMW Boxer's 2010 compression ratio is unchanged at 12:1, however, a new combustion chamber shape necessitates the use of red-designed cast-aluminum pistons.
The 2010 Boxer valves themselves have changed, with diameter increased on both intake (1.42-1.54 inches) and exhaust (1.22-1.30 inches), with valve lift also increased.
Don't expect the BMW R1200GS to lose its best-selling status in 2010 with a new, more powerful motor at the ready.
The 2010 R1200GS Adventure also sources the new Boxer powerplant.
The BMW R1200RT gets the new Boxer, as well as a redesigned fairing and controls.
The new fairing design is perhaps most noticeable in the integrated signals, with a new shape in the light.
A fully kitted out 2010 BMW R1200RT. The new model features a refreshed instrument console.
Gone are the turn signal paddles. Note the new Multi-Controller switch on the left grip.
