Riding the Kawasaki 800 SX-R Jet Ski
Sunday, May 1, 2011
With the temperatures heating up and summertime right around the corner there is no better way to escape the heat than out on the water aboard a Kawasaki Jet Ski. This afternoon I took advantage of the unusually warm weather here in Southern California by taking a dip in the Pacific Ocean while at the controls of Kawasaki’s 800 SX-R Jet Ski.
There is a fantastic beach launch right in Long Beach on the corner of Granada Avenue and East 2nd Street. From there you can literally yank your ski out of the back of a pickup truck and roll it out across the sand and into the water. It’s the only spot that I know of that you can do this legally.
The performance served up by the SX-R is nothing short of extraordinary. It carves turns with the agility and stability of a brand-new Ninja ZX-10R Superbike plus the only safety gear needed is board shorts and a life vest (wet suits are also pretty much mandatory in the cooler waters of the Pacific).
If you’re looking to experience the thrill of stand-up jet skiing you better hurry over to your Kawasaki dealer
soon because they won’t be along for long as 2011 is the final year they will be made before going extinct forever.
