REM Saturday Motocross at Glen Helen
Sunday, June 10, 2012
Most motorcyclists love a good race every now and then. And for those wishing to take it beyond the TV screen and actually experiencing racing first-hand, we recommend visiting Southern California’s Glen Helen Raceway’s REM Motocross
series. The club runs each Saturday on its own course adjacent to the main track. Practice starts right around 9:00 am and there is a class for all age groups and engine displacements—both two-and-four-stroke. The fee to race is $40 for the first class and another $20 for your second class with no membership required (membership is available and saves you $5 off your entry). REM runs a twin moto format and the races usually run like clockwork so you’re typically out of there by 2 or 3 pm. Overall, it’s a fun and relatively safe way to experience the thrill of dirt bike racing.
