Hydroplane Motorcycle Test on MythBusters
Wednesday, June 5, 2013
The crew at MythBusters
has set its sights on the motorcycle world once again. Having already tested the green credentials of bike vs car
, as well as yanking off the table cloth trick with a Buell 1125
, this time Jamie Hyneman and Adam Savage are looking to get a motorcycle to skirt across the water.
Put to the test is the myth of whether a bike can skim across a lake by hydroplaning at high speeds without sinking. The bike that MythBusters sourced for the test is the Service Honda 500AF, a hopped up 2-stroke utilized by the likes of Freestyle/daredevil Robbie Maddison.
The episode premiers June 5th, so check local listings to watch what happens. The folks at Service Honda aren’t spilling the beans about the myth… but read more about the Honda-based 500AF at www.servicehonda.com
