Motocross Racing at Glen Helen Raceway

Tuesday, April 26, 2011
With the start of the Lucas Oils AMA Motocross Championship only a few weeks away, Southern California’s REM Motocross series at Glen Helen Raceway instituted 30-minute motos in the pro classes for those looking to get some authentic race practice for the entire month of April. A few weeks ago Geico Honda’s Eli Tomac showed up with his Honda CRF250R in the back of his pick up truck and this weekend reigning GNCC champ Josh Strang raced his Suzuki RM-Z450. Other celebrities we saw in action was Troy Lee of Troy Lee Designs. On the main track the California Vintage Motocross club hosted its third of six round series and it was cool to hear and see all the old bikes flying around the track. Here are some pictures I took from Saturday's races.

In anticipation of the start of the Lucas Oils AMA Motocross Championship the REM Motocross series at Glen Helen is offering 30-minute pro motos. GNCC champ Josh Strang (center) came out to race. Troy Lee Designs founder, Troy Lee also raced (right). The California Vintage Motocross series (left) hosted a race on the main track.
