The Factory FMF/Bonanza Plumbing/KTM team overcame some heavy obstacles in the 45th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, including rider Cody Quinn’s crash which left him with a broken femur. The remaining riders were able to keep up a competitive pace though and finish the contest second in the motorcycle class. After all was said and done KTM caught up with one of the lead riders, Kurt Caselli, to get his thoughts on the arduous affair.

What does it take to tackle the 1,121.55 mile Tecate SCORE Baja 1000? Well, apart from the obvious need for machinery, technical support, ticket to Mexico and a full developed pair, it takes preparation. Mental preparation is necessary to deal with the long, lonely stretches of desert or the solitude following a crash while waiting for help.

The final round of the 2012 GEICO AMA EnduroCross Championship is fast approaching, and is bound to be one of the most spectacular stops on schedule all year. On November 17, 2012 riders will descend upon the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, home to the first EnduroCross battle in 2004, to battle for supremacy one last time before season’s end. As always, the biggest struggle will be against the myriad obstacles set out to confound the hopes of those looking to stand on the podium.

FMF/KTM’s Kurt Caselli was named the 2012 AMA/Kenda National Hare & Hound title winner after disputes were settled that had been raised during the final round in Lucerne Valley. Caselli won the round by a comfortable margin and Kawaskai’s David Pearson took second, which would have given him enough points to claim the championship.
