Robby Bell in the Baja 500, breaking Honda's 15 year-winning streak by brininging a Kawasaki home first.
Sometimes finding ways to watch races can be infuriating, unless you pay for a top-of-the-line expanded cable or satellite package or can access live video online. Problem with TV though is that plenty of the coverage is aired well after the actual contest goes down and not all series provide live feeds. I can appreciate that some, longer distance off-road type contests might be hard to cover live and that the logistics necessary to get quality streaming must require a complete audio/visual/administrative/sales/marketing staff to pull it off well, so I’m always as happy as the proverbial fat kid in a candy store when I can add another live streaming race series to my list.
When I came across the announcement from Race-Dezert.com that the 45th Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 would be offered live I almost screamed obscenities of joy in the middle of the office, (not a practice I would recommend on a weekday). Not only is there a live feed, there’s also live timing, Weatherman race radio, photos and video clips throughout pre-running, contingency and the race.
Hit up
www.race-dezert.com/live to get on board with all the action on the Baja Peninsula this year. Pre-run coverage along with Tech and Contingency starts Wednesday November, 14th with race coverage starting Thursday November 15th and going straight through till the beastly competition is done the following day.
