Stumpjumpers Desert 100 Video
Tuesday, December 13, 2011
Racing across 100 miles of desert terrain sounds like a great way to spend an April day. The Stumpjumpers motorcycle club
hosts its annual Desert 100 each spring in Odessa, Washington, and has come to be known for its massive bomb start which sees up to a thousand riders streaking across the open terrain. Next year it will be held on March 31 – April 1. Personally, desert riding isn’t what comes to mind when I think about the Northwest, and I’ve not experienced this event before. A video of the 2011 race was just released (see below) and it looks like MotoUSA might need to make a trip up the Interstate in 2012 or beyond. There are also poker runs and dual sport rides which make for a full weekend of activity.
Here’s a link to their 2010 video
as well if you really have time to kill.
