Klim is True Innovation in Motorcycle Gear
Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Our first ride with the Klim gear was during the Adventure Rider challenge. This gear will see plenty more action, I guarantee it.
There’s plenty of motorcycle gear manufacturers out there, but
Klim has only been on the dirt bike scene for a relatively short amount of time. The Idaho-based company has been an established ass-kicker in the snowmobile arena, but the number of riders switching to this unique brand is growing. I got a chance to sample some of the snow apparel during our test of the
2Moto snow bike, but it wasn’t until last week that I donned some for throwing brown roost.
Klim set me up head to foot with an anniversary edition
F4 helmet,
Mojave glove,
Revolt jersey and
Chinook pant. I’m sure you’ve seen the helmet, it’s the one with all those crazy ridges along the back which provide extra venting. The jersey and gloves aren’t nearly as radical, but the pants are really what got me excited. Motocross riders never really have a need to drop a set of keys or a few squares of toilet paper in a pocket to take along. But off-road guys know the value of having some light storage. Mostly this has come in the form of over-the-boot pants which are a love-hate

design for most riders. Personally, I’m fine with them for dual-sporting, but serious off-road riding creates problems because the cuff gets caught on the footpegs. That’s why the Chinook pants are so bad-ass.
Sizing is a little large, but Velcro straps on each hip make for a good fit. The pants are lightweight with leather inners on both knees, pockets on top of each thigh and a massive zippered vent on each upper leg. Best of all, natural cuffs tuck into your boots keeping everything tight and worry-free, and offer plenty of mesh on the lower legs. These are the pants I’ve been waiting for someone to make. Thank you, Klim!
