Cycle News Issue 42 Available

Tuesday, October 23, 2012
Motorcycle USA media partner, Cycle News, brings you full coverage of the 2012 Monster Energy Cup in the October 23, 2012 issue. Justin Barcia made his 450cc debut with Muscle Milk Honda a memorable one, taking the overall win and the $100,000 dollar prize. The event was filled with drama from all corners, with one of the most notable rides coming from Red Bull KTM’s Ryan Dungey, who was forced to use his hand to shift gears after the lever bent back to his footpeg. Defending champ Ryan Villopoto of Monster Energy Kawasaki gave fans hope that the million dollars might again be won after his commanding performance in Main Event 1, but a crash in the second race left RV at the back of the pack and without any chance of pulling off a clean sweep. MotoGP continued on as well, with the incident-ridden Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang. Sporadic rains early on led to a wet race for the premier-class and the contest eventually was cut short after heavy precipitation returned mid-race. Taddy Blazusiak prevailed in a tough Geico EnduroCross competition in Everett, Washington and Kurt Caselli kept his AMA Kenda National Hare & Hound Championship Series title hopes alive with a strong showing in Southern California. AMA Pro Road Racing’s Roger Hayden sits down to talk about his plans for the future and editors test the 2013 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R at Thunderhill Raceway.
