Motorcyclists Ride for Kids in Colorado, Ohio

More than 100 participants rode for a cure in the 10th Cleveland Ride for Kids on June 8. Despite heavy rain, the event had raised $49,847 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation by ride time.

The event’s Stars were the seven local brain tumor survivors who led the ride from Independence Fieldhouse Soccer Fields: Aimie, Ashley, Lindy, Lon, Lucy, Maggie and Rebecca.

Star Aimie told the crowd, “I had surgery earlier this year and within 30 days I ran a marathon. Thank you everyone for continuing to support us.”

As of June 8, the individual, motorcycle club/chapter and motorcycle business with the most raised were John Powers ($14,000), Rock & Roll HOG ($16,592) and Sill’s Motor Sales ($7,352).The top non-motorcycle group was Team Olivia Ward ($17,226).

The event is still collecting donations online at www.rideforkids.org. Fundraisers will receive incentive credit through July 8.

Thank you to the dedicated volunteers who organized the event. This year’s task force leaders were Dave and Ruth Ostoich.

Golden, Colorado

Close to 300 participants rode for a cure in the 11th Colorado Ride for Kids on June 8. The event had raised $50,200 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation by ride time.

The event’s Stars were the six local brain tumor survivors who led the ride from the Jefferson County Human Services Building in Golden: Ben, Collin, James, Patricia, Sean and Spencer.

“You are not just here attending an event,” said Star Ben. “You are battling alongside soldiers, kids with cancer.”

As of June 8, the individual, motorcycle club/chapter and motorcycle business with the most raised were Pamela McCombs ($12,095), GWRRA CO-G ($12,255) and Nece Trikes ($12,135). The top non-motorcycle group was Tyrell Chevrolet of Cheyenne, Wyoming ($633).

Also in attendance were GEICO representative Teresa Johnson, author Nancy Sharp, and Denver Cutthroats mascot Gill.
