Brad Lackey Offers Danny Chandler Video

Thursday, September 24, 2009
Back when men were men, guys like Brad Lackey and Danny Chandler paved the way for current motocross racers with their iron will. Bikes were fast as hell with suspension and brakes that struggled to keep up, and track building wasn’t the science it is today. These guys and their cohorts put it all on the line for the love of racing. For some, like Danny, they paid a higher price than anyone would ask.

Magoo suffered paralysis in 1985 (see the blog about fellow paraplegic Doug Henry returning to action), and in the time since he has dedicated himself to promoting safety and awareness among young riders. As a friend and former competitor, Bad Brad Lackey has created a video plea to help garner support for the purchase of a new, specialized vehicle to suit Danny’s needs. Donations can be made at the Legends and Heroes website. There is also a big eBay auction starting tomorrow specifically for the Magoo benefit so check out the video to get more info. There’s some awesome old footage mixed in there as well!

It's great to see Brad Lackey sticking up for this guy. That shows he's a real classy guy underneath that silver Fu.

Those guys were greats. Hate to see Magoo struggle like that. It's a shame he was cut down in his prime. I remember that superbiker competition and it was so far ahead of its time.
