2010 Husqvarna TXC250 Ride Preview

2010 Husqvarna TXC250 testing.
I just finished testing the new 2010 Husqvarna TXC250 and TE250 in Southern California. We headed out to Hesperia, CA to visit the Zip-Ty Racing shop and get a crack at the new Huskies. The bikes were fresh out of the crate, so what better way to break them in then by turning Kyle Redmond loose on Ty Davis’ private endurocross track? Redmond finished sixth in this year’s EX campaign aboard an Am-Pro Yamaha. Being as the TE is a street-legal enduro, we didn’t bother subjecting it to the horror, but check out the damage Husky’s quarter-liter off-road racer inflicted during our photo shoot.

TEMan - As for the lugging the bike, our TE test unit had very disappointing bottom end, no lugging. But, the TXC was better and the engines for the TE and TXC are essentially the same, so they can be tuned to match with little effort. I'll go into this more in the review.

DirtyJ - The TXC has a weight advantage, but I'd take the 390 in handling. I love the way the canted Husaberg engine works with the chassis.

Which is the best handling bike: TXC250 or FE390?

Hi JC,
I look forward to your review of the new TE250. Please compare the 250's motor and handling to the 310 you recently reviewed. Now that you have tested both, which bike do you recommend for those of us who need a street legal bike only for connecting trails. Can the 250 be lugged? Can the TE engine be tuned same as the TXC.
