his family rides, too. His clan is an outdoorsy bunch who also enjoys camping and riding ATVs. He likes to upgrade the parts and accessories on his motorcycles, but plans to purchase a helmet and riding gloves this year. Riding to him is ‘good outdoor family fun.’
Joaquim Gonsalves is our young reader we mentioned from India. He owns two motorcycles and enjoys riding anything with two wheels, but finds the most pleasure when he’s in the saddle of a street bike. Joaquim came across as a pretty bright guy who researches motorcycles on the internet, in magazines, and doing test rides before he buys. This year, Joaquim plans to purchase a gearbag and riding pants. He rides because ‘I’ve been in love with motorcycles and riding since longer than I can remember’ and would like ‘to achieve Ironbutt and Saddlesore certificates like some of my fellow bikers in India.’
Lawrence Higbee rides because ‘he enjoys it.’ We’ll say he does. Ol’ Larry sent over pictures of him doing everything from stand-up wheelies on a sportbike to hauling serious butt on a motocross bike. He is a sport rider who owns four bikes and has four members of his family that also ride. Way to make it a family affair, Larry. When purchasing a new bike, he uses advice from family and friends as well as the internet and magazines. Higbee plans to buy body armor/protective wear, eyewear, a gearbag, helmet, motorcycle tires, riding boots, gloves, pants, and a

jacket this year. But Larry, you only won $100!
Willie Liberman says “I haven’t grown up yet!” And that’s why he continues to ride motorcycles. Being in the saddle can make you feel eternally young. Liberman enjoys sport riding and owns three bikes. When purchasing a new bike he weighs his decision most heavily on test rides. Willie is looking to purchase a new set of motorcycle tires this year.
Marvin Whitest prefers riding cruiser/custom motorcycles and owns one bike. Right on, Marvin. As Motorcycle USA’s Cruiser Editor, does me proud to see another cruiser guy get his due. He rides because it is “Part of my life!” Besides motorcycling, Marvin enjoys camping, golfing, and riding bicycles. He wants to invest in eye protection, a gearbag, motorcycle helmet, riding boots, gloves, and jacket this year. Although he does not plan to purchase a new bike anytime soon, he uses all his resources when buying, including dealership visits, advice from family and friends, the internet, magazines, and test rides. The proud owner of a Honda VTX1800, Marvin plans on using the gift card to purchase a Power Commander, the first step in upgrading his VTX. According to Marvin, ’This is the first time I’ve won anything.’
