The familiar Number 9 is on an unfamiliar blue machine.
Once it was all said and done on Saturday night, five of the top-10 450 riders were aboard Yamaha equipment. Ivan Tedesco was one of them.
Hot Sauce was one of the riders hardest hit by budget crunches this season. The former Red Bull Honda rider said goodbye to his factory ride and was picked up late by the Valli Motorsports team to ride the new Yamaha YZ450F. As Valli makes its foray into professional Supercross, the team is using plenty of GYTR equipment and judging from the three-time Motocross des Nations champion’s results, he’s getting along pretty well with the new bike despite minimal testing.
Tedesco scored fifth in his heat race and finished ninth in the main event, two spots in front of former Honda teammate Davi Millsaps, and two spots behind Andrew Short. He’s 50 seconds off James Stewart’s winning pace, but only a second behind Josh Hill on a similar San Manuel Yamaha. Take a look at the photos below for a closer look at Tedesco’s ride.
