Two New Las Vegas EnduroCross Videos
Friday, August 6, 2010
I just had two emails come through today with links to videos from the opening round of EnduroCross in Las Vegas. Personally, I just can’t get enough of this EX stuff. Name one other form of racing that makes any and all professional rider look like an incompetent fool. Trials is the closest thing I could imagine. Take your pick – motocross, Supercross, enduro, WORCS, trials, hare scrambles, desert, rally, GP, hare and hound… shall I go on? I won’t even mention the street guys. On the street there’s nothing to compare, not even MotoGP. The talent is absurd, but the tracks won’t slaughter a regular Joe on a sportbike – hell, a girl on a Vespa could ride the courses.
Kawasaki offers a video that shows some of the behind-the-scenes type stuff that goes into an EnduroCross race. They talk with Eric Peronnard about the sport and show some cool crash footage.
The one from Husaberg features Nathan Woods and has a lot of great slow-motion shots that really show the suspension working, plus the brake and clutch technique needed to get around the tight corners and over the obstacles. As Woods explains it, his factory Husaberg FX450 is surprisingly stock. Just a few mods and the rest is left alone. I do like the blue frame though – sick!
Enjoy, and if you think you’re man enough – sign up!
