Is DMG Sleeping with Dirt Bikers?

The US Open of Supercross has announced some changes to the 2009 event format under the guise of more action, better viewing and increased competition. The idea is to offer bonus points which can be earned through head-to-head racing and a mechanic’s challenge. Half of this gimmick seem legit, and the other a big load of poopy.

Ryan Capes Sets Ramp Jump Record

The Grand Sierra resort in Reno, Nevada was the site of another world record dirt bike jump when Ryan Capes launched 316 feet ramp-to-ramp on Sept. 26. Check out the video below from Ryan’s website and visit www.ryancapes.net for more info on the ridiculous jump.

Bikes were fast as hell with suspension and brakes that struggled to keep up, and track building wasn’t the science it is today.
