Husaberg Pumping New 2-Strokes at IEWC

Tuesday, February 15, 2011
Husaberg released its first-ever 2-stroke models last year and while it’s a major milestone of sorts for the long-time thumper manufacturer, the bikes are really just blue KTMs. Partnering with the new parent company from Austria made it easy to expand the line of models and now ‘Berg enthusiasts have the option of running premix. The recent Indoor Enduro World Championship round in Barcelona saw Joakim Ljunggren follow a pair of KTM riders on the overall podium. Taddy Blazusiak took first and David Knight was second. Ljunggren and Graham Jarvis were piloting TE machines, though all envious Americans will have to seethe for a bit longer as the 250 and 300 models are still not coming to the U.S.

I wouldn't say that KTM is a relatively "new" parent company. They've owned Husaberg for 16 years now. They just didn't flaunt it until they dumped more money into the brand (and rightfully so given the results).
