Jimmy Button’s $1,000,000 - Miles for Miracles
Thursday, February 17, 2011
Jimmy Button was a factory
motocross and
Supercross racer in the late 1990s. A crash at the start of the 2000 season at the San Diego Supercross saw the young star paralyzed. By the end of the season Button had willed his body to function and he has regained the use of all his limbs, though not to pre-accident levels. Button’s story is as unusual as it is inspiring, and the California rider went on to co-found the
Road 2 Recovery Foundation. Now, more than a decade after his injury, Button is continuing to bring attention and funding to spinal cord research.
Alongside former trainer, Cory Worf, the two will leave on February 20th to bicycle their way from Southern California all the way to Daytona, Florida on a 2428-mile quest to raise $1 million. The ride is called Miles for Miracles and touches eight states along the way. Be sure to follow the
Miles for Miracles website for daily updates.
