Gregorio Lavilla - Portimao Test
Lavilla returns for another season of World Superbike aboard a Honda.

Gregorio Lavilla first made a name for himself by winning the 250 Supersport championship in 1994. Since then he became a consistent rider for the Kawasaki World Superbike effort. Although he never has won the SBK title he has been in the hunt and is a popular figure in the paddock with the fans.

He moved to the British Superbike championship in 2005-2007 seasons where he really made a name for himself in front of the racer-friendly British fans. He won the title in 2005, his first year is BSB and was a contender during the next two seasons.

He was runner-up in 2006 after late season crashes and mechanical issues slowed him down and then finished fourth in ’07 after winning the first four races. He went on to finish fourth in the title chase.

After a long absence from World Superbike the Spaniard returned for the 2008 championship aboard a Ventaxia VK Honda CBR1000RR finishing in 12th place. For 2009 Lavilla started the season aboard the Pro Ride Honda team but moved to the satellite Ducati team of Guandalini Racing.
