Tommy Hahn started off his successful racing career with some important lessons learned early in his amateur days. In 2003 he was leading the 125 A class at Loretta Lynn’s when, towards the end of the race, his motor blew up. While this incident greatly depressed Tommy, it also bolstered his motivation to come back stronger than ever in his final year as an amateur. He would go on to eventually win the 125 A tile in 2004, the same year he was picked up by the Factory Connection Honda Team.
While flying under the radar for most of his professional career, Tommy has garnered some impressive stats as a young rider. In 2004 he joined the pro ranks and took a third overall at the U.S. Open. The following year he finished tenth overall in the West Coast Lites SX Championship. His MX season was not stellar, but he did manage some top-six finishes in Southwick and Lakewood, Colorado.
For 2008, Hahn joined the newly formed Motosport Xtreme Kawasaki Team. Hahn would go on to have one of his best SX seasons to date, earning two podium finishes and four top-10’s for fifth overall in the standings. In 2009 Hahn made the move up to the premier class, but while training for the upcoming season he suffered an injury which delayed the start of his season. His results were mediocre throughout the SX season, but things quickly changed with the start of the outdoor series. Hahn had a season which progressively got better, and by the end he was taking podiums and even a win in the final race of the season. He finished fifth in his first MX season aboard a 450.

In 2010 Hahn did very well in the premier SX class and earned multiple top-10 finishes, including a podium finish at Seattle. In Motocross Hahn snagged top-10 finishes at Freestone, High Point, Washougal, Unadilla and Southwick. While overall he wasn’t as successful as the previous year, his performance in 2010 helped establish his presence in the sport.

For 2011 Hahn will be taking on the SX/MX field with a new team – Moto Concepts Yamaha.
