Jake Moss - AMA Motocross Hangtown
Rider: Jake Moss
Team: CDR Rockstar Yamaha
Machine: Yamaha YZF450R (#40)
Born: January 6, 1988 in Sydney, Australia

Originally from Australia, Jake Moss won every state title as a junior up until to the age of 14. After his amateur success, Jake was able to land a factory ride in 2006. During his rookie year he had several moto wins and podiums which resulted in him finishing seventh overall in the Australian series. The following year he had an exceptional season of motocross, taking home the ‘07 National Motocross Pro Lites Championship in his home country of Australia.
In 2008 he participated in his first-ever AMA SX East Coast Lites Championship. He impressed on-lookers by securing a fourth-place finish at the Georgia Dome. The young Aussie’s pace also turned heads in Arenacross as the youngster sought more riding experience during his SX Lites break. He went on to win every race over the two-night event.
In 2009 Jake only raced half the East Coast Lites season due to an injury, but in that brief time he earned three top-10 finishes. Moss then stepped up to the 450 class during the outdoor season where he challenged for the lead on multiple occasions. He finished the season in 15th, which including six top-10 finishes – an accomplishment that was all the more impressive given the fact he didn’t race four rounds.

Jake Moss advanced from 40th to 26th-place in Moto 1 at Hangtown earning the RC Hard Charger Award as a result.
Moss collected the RC Hard Charger Award in the first race at Hangtown. Unfortunately, it was the highlight of his 2010 season.

In 2010 Moss competed in the East Coast Lites division again. At Dallas the Aussie suffered a violent crash at the start of the main when he and Troy Adams came together while battling for second. Moss was later diagnosed with a broken knuckle and a torn ligament from his hand. Deciding to sit out the remaining three rounds, Jake returned to Australia where he began MX testing and training.

During the 2010 MX season opener at Hangtown Moss secured the RC Hard Charger Award after passing 14 riders in the main to finish 26th overall. In the end, however, Moss would collect zero points from the entire season, only competing in three rounds.

Jake Moss is currently racing at home in Australia with CDR Rockstar Yamaha.
