Jason Lawrence celebrates a 2008 Supercross victory. The MX star is serving time now for an assault conviction.

First reported on Racer X on Sept 9th, Lawrence’s incarceration stems from a fight with a friend where J Law reputedly bit part of the victim’s ear off. The Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta, California, lists a Jason Donald Lawrence on a booking report with a matching birth date.

In 2008, Lawrence reportedly spent the night in jail prior to the Red Bud Motocross round. It was an incident that earned him a hefty fine from the AMA and probationary status, which Lawrence eventually broke during this year’s Supercross season.

Now, it would seem, the former Yamaha star’s MX career is on permanent hold until he finds his way out of his cell…
