Buell XB12XT 2010
The NHTSA has announced a recall issued by Buell Motorcycle Co. for the 2010 XB12X and XB12XT for a possible manufacturing error on the righthand side footpeg.

Buell Motorcycle Company has issued a recall for its 2010 model year XB12X and XB12XT due to a potential manufacturing error on the righthand side footpeg. The recall affects approximately 23 motorcycles manufactured between August 20 – September 30, 2009.

The report┬áreleased by the NHTSA states: “The right hand side footpeg mount may have been manufactured to incorrect specifications. This condition could allow the footpeg to move significantly out of position, which could lead to loss of control of the vehicle resulting in injury or death of the rider.”

The recall begins December 14, 2009 and owners may contact Buell Distribution Company at 1-414-343-8400 for more information. Buell owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Adminstration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
