Capture your motorcycle experience in true high-definition quality with the $299.99 GoPro HD Motorsports Hero camera. Note the mounting position of the camera on the tail section and the rider’s helmet.

Motorcyclists and other powersports enthusiasts get to experience situations that many non-riders simply can’t. But a new wearable digital recording device changes all that. The GoPro HD Motorsports HERO camera allows the user to record their favorite activity in either 1080p, 960p resolutions at 30 frames-per-second, or at 720p at 60 fps for slow-motion, high-definition action.

This rugged camera is smaller than a pack of cigarettes and can be mounted virtually anywhere on a motorcycle, ATV, or any other machine via its 3-axis suction cup mount (included) or fixed adhesive mounts. Additional mounting apparatus is also available allowing you to mount it at angles that one never thought possible. It features an ultra-wide lens that is capturing either 170- or 127-degree view depending on selected resolution mode.

Unlike its predecessor, the HD HERO features a rechargeable battery that can record up to 2.5 hours of video footage. The battery can be removed or quickly recharged within the camera via its mini-USB style adapter port. Data is stored directly to a removable SD card in either .MP4 (video) or .JPEG (photo) format with a maximum storage capacity of 32 gigabytes. Furthermore the camera is capable of recording still images in 5 megapixel resolution and can be set to snap off a picture in 2, 5, 10, 30, or 60 second increments.

The camera is controlled via a straightforward and easy-to-use two button interface. The bottom Power/Mode button turns the camera on/off and allows the user to navigate through a simple menu system displayed on the LCD. Video or photos can then be captured by pressing the top Shutter button. Both video and sound quality is substantial improved over the original GoPro and is as good if not better than what you’d obtain from a similarly priced point-and-shoot cameras. Durability wise, nothing even comes close to the GoPro. It’s both waterproof and shock proof and continues to perform despite our constant abuse. If you’re looking for the best in motorsports digital video, look no further than GoPro’s HD Motorsports Hero camera.
